Momoy : The First Cat I Ever Have

Momoy was the first cat i ever have. I never liked cat. But since i found her, she changed my perception about their species.

It was midnite and heavy rain. And i was creating new best record – staying awake for 66 hours to finish my freelance job, designing the interior for Kepala Batas Hospital. I heard a kitten’s cried from outside. But since it was raining, i couldn’t trace the cries. I fall asleep around 5am and when i woke up at 7am, i still heard the cries. The rain has stopped. I walked along the corridor to find the kitten.

Opposite of my house, there was an empty unit. I tried my luck, stretched my neck into the pantry area and found the kitten was there! She was abandoned in a box and was so dirty. I took her home. Mr Am was disagreed about keeping a cat in our home since we have a lot of hamsters, chipmunks, squirrels and a rabbit. But who could insist a helpless kitten? The eyes were not yet opened, the umbilical cord was still there. She was soooo young to be abandoned! Poor kitty :( I assumed she was less than 3-days old when i found her.

But since i was too sleepy (yeah, successful creating a new record!) and tired, i couldn’t focus on her. And knowing that i was too lack of knowledge about handling or caring a kitten, i sent her to a vet for a few days. Instead of boarding her, Dr T helped to feed her and taught her to suck the feeding bottle. Soon as i regained my strength, i took her from the vet and since then, she lived with us! My first kitty! And i named her as Momoy. Was it a cute name for cute kitty? ;)

I fed her with Troy Animalac formula 4 times a day. I sacrificed my lunch hour to rush home everyday and fed her milk until she was about 6 weeks old and can eat the soaked Royal Canin Babycat food by her own.

She was spayed to remove her pyometra on 9 Nov 2008.

Since that day, she couldn’t eat by her own. I have to hand feed her. Her condition became worse after she got a jaundice. There was a fresh bruises on the shaved area, but the vet couldn’t tell why.

Fresh bruises. The red stain is the surgical iodin

18 Nov 2008, a day before her death, i took to the vet. The vet cleaned her wound.

Can see the bruises clearly?

The vet said she was getting better and we thought she’ll get through. But we was wrong!

Momoy left us forever

I went home and see her in this position. I thought she was sleeping, but she's not breathing!

I can’t describe my feelings at this moment. But i’m terribly miss her so much :( especially when i look at her belonging..

I can feel your “grief” …
In rainbow bridge, she shall run, be free, no pain, looking at mummy from top, sending her flying kisses from above…

your story brought tears to my eyes – she was such a happy cat hopefully the memories of the days you spent together will become less painful has the years go by and you will be left with memories that fill you with joy – from the pictures it was so clear to see you had such a special relationship
