Farewell, Pipin :(

Posted: December 29, 2011 in The Little Critters

Papai & Pipin were to squirrel babies when i found them.

First, Papai left us.

Now, it’s Pipin.

I lost both of them without any sign :(

Farewell, my little squirrel.

Binky free to Rainbow Bridge, little one. Hope u already find a true happiness there..

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together…. “ – Author unknown.

Farewell Chepard

Posted: May 9, 2011 in The Little Critters

Remember our chipmunks, Chepard & Chip?

Chepard was not feeling well since the last 3 weeks so Mr Am took him home so that i can nurse him. I’ve been force-feeding him for the last few days, but Chepard’s condition was getting worse day by day due to his old age, i guess. He was about 7 years old.

He lost his appetite and badly dehydrated. His tears kept coming from his eyes before his passing.

He left us on 1.40am, 2 May 2011, with me beside him all the night..

RIP, little Chepard ~

He was the longest pet lived with us. 7 years with full of joy and great memories. Hop free to Rainbow Bridge, little one. You will be missed.

I was google my posts in a local forum pet thread when i saw this photo :

♥ Chip & Chepard ♥

That is the photo of the lovely couple chipmunks, Chip & Chepard. In case u guys dont know that I have chipmunks as pet, please read my very old post about them in this post – The Chipmunks : An Intro

They are still in a very good health. They’re around 7 years old by now. (I got them somewhere in the end of year 2003. They no longer with me, but they’re just a few storey downstairs as they’re living with Mr Am. I’ll ask Mr Am if he can get the latest photos of these cuties :)

I’m sorry for being quiet for quite sometime. A lot of things happened in our apartment.

First, the Fluffies are expanded when we received 4 little kits to shelter until they get the new adopters. I still havent have time to put them for adoption. But one of the kits died without reason :(

Next, there was a personal problem between Mr Am and I. Our little happy family had torn apart. Mr Am moved away and took The Chipmunks, The Squirrels and The Purrrrs along. The Fluffies are staying with me. Our canine friend, Koko-D has found its new family, a young couple with their 2 little cute boys.

On 13 July, found a new lump on Daddy Dino. This is the 3rd-4th lump within 12 months.

On 17 July, i found an abandoned kitten near my office entrance and took it home. It was named as Neo, but it died on Thursday nite, 20 Aug ago..

Isn't he cute???

Isn't he cute???

While i was struggling to save the kitten and battling my financial problem, Mr Am made a deal with me regarding Memon & Jebat. Mr Am is a very hardworking contractor. He works almost 16 hours a day, sometimes he will get home at very late and no time to free The Purrrrs. So i agree to take The Purrrrs with me and Mr Am will sponsors all the cats’ expenses.

This is the only photo of the 3 kitties together..

Yes, The Purrrrs are now with me :)

Recently, which is last Sunday, 23 Aug 2009, i received another shocked news. Our little squirrel, Papai died in his cage. The reason was unknown. Mr Am said he looked ok and eating well the nite before. I managed to snap his photos before i bury him. No injury and no sign of sickness on him. Could he died of boredom???

Farewell, Papai...

Farewell, Papai...

He was beautiful...

He was beautiful...

Mr Am was so broke down and wept on what had happened to our little family. It had torn apart and the pets seem to sense the broken. Mr Am was thinking about letting go the chipmunks and the squirrel to its nature because he cannot bear any loss in the future. But as a captivity bred, i dont think it is a good idea. They will not survive out there. But, I can’t take them in.

I have 2 cats and 14 bunnies at the moment. My younger brother has moved in and stay with me. As a grown up teenage, he needs his own room. I’m thinking about reducing half of the Fluffies, find adopters and give them away. A big decision to make.. Sigh..

Our pets seem to sense that we're breaking apart :(

I will keep my blog update while i’m mending the broken pieces of the life we’re been thru at this moment.
Please pray the best for us…

The Squirrels : An Intro

Posted: February 21, 2009 in The Little Critters

Surprise, huh?! Now u guys must be wonder how our small apartment looks like when we have soooo many creatures inside it :P

Our apartment had been visited by a turtle, a bird, fishes too! Some of them were set free.. some of them went to Rainbow Bridge.. and some of them are still live with us.

These are Papai & Pipin. In July 2007, Mr Am and his workers was cleaning the plantation area and cut some trees when they accidentally intruded a nest. Inside of the nest was a mama squirrel with her 2 babies. The mama ran away. Mr Am’s worker placed the nest on the other tree but the mama failed to return. The mama squirrel must be very scared to approach her nest since there was human scent near the nest.

Am took the babies home. This is how they looked like with the eyes still shut.

They was sooo cute when they were babies!

It wasn’t easy to rear the babies. I have to keep them warm but their bodies’ temperature wasn’t high enough. So before each feeding, i have to warmth them with a dry towel and wrapped them.

This is after they opened the eyes

I fed them with Troy Animalac formula. After feeding, the babies will crawled and sneaked into Mr Am’s pocket and slept there. They were sooooooooo cute when they slept!

Both of them are unseparatable. When one is missing, the other one will makes a squaking noise until the missing one shown up.

Unseparatable twins!

Pipin is the smaller one. It was injured from the fall. Sometimes, it will has a temporary paralysis and it has mo move around by dragging its body using front legs. That why i never set them free to their nature habitat.

Some of their grown-up photos..

Hoping and sniffing around.. like a rabbit!

They're very tame. But when they climb on u, they'll leave a lot of scrathes and make your skin itchy! They have a sharp claws to hook and climb

The Chipmunks : An Intro

Owh… I’m busy with the Fluffies and the Purrrrs. I almost (actually i already) forgot to introduce the other pets inside our apartment.

These are the seniors, Chepard & Chip the chipmunks! They have lived with us for more than 5 years now.

I bought Chip and Chad (RIP) for Mr. Am. But a few months later, Chad died after fell from the curtain’s rails.

Chepard was saved from a local petshop a few weeks after we got Chip & Chad. He was half-dead when we took him home. He had a big bite-wound on his head, smelt and stunk. I put some ointment on his head and cleaned the wound. The wound recovered, but he lost one of his ears. Since then, he’s known as one-eared chipmunk gangsta! LOL!

I have no photo of Chad. I was camera-less.

But we have some photos of the other chipmunks, Chubby (RIP) and Cheeky (RIP). Chubby died in 2006 after fell from my kitchen pantry. Cheeky died in 2007 after fell from the balcony. Before those incidents, our chipmunks were free-range pets. After those incidents happened, we have to cage Chip and Chepard to avoid any accident to happen to them.
